Hitachi Launches New HXP Li-ion Micro Driver Drill

Hitachi Power Tools has introduced the DB10DL 10.8-Volt Lithium Ion Micro Driver Drill. Impressively lightweight at 1.8lbs and compact at less than 6” in length, it gets into places where other drills cannot. The DB10DL is ideal for precision drilling and driving applications including general fastening and hardware installations, HVAC and electrical operations, computer and electronic equipment repair, furniture assembly and fine finish work. Professionals and homeowners will find the DB10DL to be a new favorite.

With 88 in/lbs of turning torque and a best-in-class 21+1 stage clutch for accuracy and control, the DB10DL has the power to drive 130 3” screws into wood with one battery charge. Hitachi’s environmentally-friendly 1.5Ah HXP battery makes this tool an affordable lithium ion option that delivers a steady stream of power throughout every charge, unlike traditional batteries that undergo a power fade from the moment the trigger is pulled. Hitachi’s patented battery charger features unique circuitry that prevents overheating or power loss, ultimately extending the life of the lithium ion battery and saving the user from costly replacements. All HXP batteries are also equipped with an advanced current interrupt detection system and a thermal protector for added safety.

The DB10DL micro driver drill features a quick change 1/4” hex chuck that allows for quick and simple bit replacements. A responsive variable speed trigger allows for complete control during intricate operations. An LED ring surrounds the chuck and effectively illuminates dim work areas. Additionally, partially depressing the trigger activates the LED, allowing the user to see clearly to set up an application before the driver drill is in motion. A low battery indicator light warns the user when run-time is getting low. And, Hitachi’s DB10DL is the only driver in its class to stand on its own. Competitive models must be inconveniently laid down on their sides when not in use.

Optimized handle dimensions create an ergonomic grip span for comfortable control in all size hands. Well-balanced tool weight and a properly positioned center of gravity keep the user’s hand and forearm in alignment to reduce fatigue over time. Less wrist deviation and flexor strain result in less user fatigue and more accurate operation.

The DB10DL Micro Driver Drill features Hitachi’s industry leading 5-year warranty. This drill marks the first tool in a micro series that will evolve further in Spring 2008. The DB10DL comes complete with two 10.8-volt 1.5Ah lithium ion batteries, a Universal quick charger, a 1/4” hex driver bit and a 7-piece magnetic drive set- all contained in a durable carrying case.
